About the artwork:

The 'Lots of brave' design was originally submitted to our Childhood Cancer Awareness Month art exhibition in 2017, by Kyle Hutchings. Kyle told us:

"My daughter, Holly Blossom age 4, is currently going through treatment for a stage two Wilms’ tumour. So far she has had 5 rounds of chemo, her operation to remove the tumour and right kidney and since had two of 27 more weeks of chemotherapy. We are at Birmingham Children’s Hospital (BCH) who I am forever indebted to for the treatment provided and the manner in which it has been administered.

The reason for my submission was an offhand comment the day after Holly’s operation. We had collected the beads of courage she had accumulated on the day of her operation and were applying the beads to her ever-extending necklace when mommy said “How brave were you? This (necklace) shows how brave you have been.”, more in a statement because she had been such a superstar and has been all the way through. Holly’s response was matter of fact, as if it was nothing at all, an everyday occurrence “Lots of brave.” That comment and how it was delivered sums up how Holly has dealt with every aspect of this unfortunate journey. She has just got on with it with a smile on her face. It amazes me every day how strong she is and has been."

Got this for our son we chose his favourite colour red, and added a short message. It’s extra special as it means a lot he was pleased with it too!
